Long Drive

Sitting idle on a Sunday evening what better could I have done than heading for the Jaipur highway for my first long drive and on expressway it's a pleasure to drive though only as long as the traffic is minimal.

It started with no idea where I would go but one thing was sure, I had to go somewhere. It was a nice evening with pleasant weather and nearly no traffic. On my way I chose the route from signature tower to Rajasthan toll. Though I'm wondering if I had an alternative ;) I was alone but I was enjoying the drive so much it didn't crossed my mind, not even once.

The drive from signature tower to Rajshasthan toll was the refreshing one; you can enjoy the drive where you don't have to use the B&C of car, as once you are on highway you can drive at a constant speed of 80KMPH and that too without any interruption. Though at a few places you can find pedestricians crossing. I loved the drive till toll but the moment I took a U turn I started hating the idea that its going to end soon :( Also on my way back I tried to remember the places where I can head to but not to my surprise I didn't got any option except Malls. I even thought of heading to Delhi but on the very thought of traffic I changed my mind.

It was a short one but I liked it, as it was exciting and the reason for which is hard to explain, except a few which are for sure such as as good weather, nice road, less traffic and a beautiful evening. All in all it was a wonderful drive which refreshed my mind and I'm still excited. From now onward I can say yes, I love long drives and I'm part of the gang of those who love it.

Weekend at Heritage Village resort in Manesar

I made this trip with my team at ALU, we had a lot of discussion and finally we ended up at Heritage Village, Manesar. Its reviews on internet were exciting and we were expecting to spend a good weekend.

Heritage village in Manesar is 22km drive from Iffco chowk, Gurgaon. We left at 11:30 in morning and reached there around 12:00. It was not difficult finding resort, as there were sign boards on major turns. The reception area was phenomenal with good art, foreign guests and a good view of swimming pool, though it was a small one with warning sign 'No Diving'.

The resort staff was slow and unmanaged, as it took them around 1:30 hours to hand over the keys. I don't know if it was because of heavy rush or what but whatever it was, with so much price I won't be buying any excuse. By the time they arranged the keys we had our snacks and finally at 3:20 we were in our rooms. Though the property was huge but it was lot like ashrams in Haridwar. The rooms were good with all facilities including a fridge with cold-drinks, beers and all but everything else was bad including swimming pool which was very bad with no shower rooms and all, even though it had foreigners in two piece ;)

All in all the trip was boring and a bad decision to spend a weekend. We had activities like folk dance, DJ night, water volley but we didn't had much fun like we had in our previous trips. I would say that if anyone is looking for an exciting weekend then it's a bad choice but for relaxing one I would say don't spend so much, there many good ashrams in Haridwar and Rishikesh to give a try.
